It had been about ten days since I cut ties with my wife, Misae.
Coming home from my new job, I was eating dinner with the twin JKs. “The movers are coming tomorrow.” “Movers…?” The two of them tilted their heads in confusion.
“Ah, I see. We’re hauling out that dumb wife’s luggage.”
Misae had agreed to the divorce.
But apparently she’s broke now, so she asked us to send her some furniture and stuff. “That’s true too.” ”…Teacher, w-what?”
“She’ll take what she needs for herself, but bring everything else to the new place.” “N-new… place!?” Akari and the other girl gasped, their eyes wide with shock.
“T-teacher, a new place? Did you buy a house…?”
“No, I rented it. A house.”
I refilled my soup (a cold vichyssoise).
Akari quickly came back with another bowl.
“Teacher, why… did you rent a house?” “The reasons are… well, there are a few.”
Simply put, this place is too small for three people to live comfortably.
That’s certainly a reason too… but.
The bigger factor is that Misae knows about this place.
Misae—the ex-wife. I supposedly cut ties with her…
But she knows the address here.
Which means there’s a chance she could show up to try and shake me down for money. If I were there, I’d handle it myself.
But I work during the day. And the twins are on their summer break right now (or at least, they claim it’s their test break).
It would be a hassle if Misae came while I wasn’t home and caused any harm to them.
“I figured it out. It’s you looking out for us, O-kari-san.”
Akari, the blonde delinquent younger sister, instantly put on a face as if she’d understood everything. ”……Looking out for us?”
“See, that crazy ex-wife knows this place, right? We’d be in trouble if she just forced her way in.”
”……Teacher. Thank you… for doing all this for us.”
Time after time, Nana, her older sister, bowed her head deeply.
I let out a sigh and flick Akari on the forehead. “You’ve got way too good instincts for trouble.” “Was I wrong?”
“No, being considerate has always been one of your virtues.” “Niih~♡ See, I told you so?”
“Don’t get cocky. If you were really considerate, you’d notice the issue but keep it to yourself—that’s what a lady does.”
Akari puffed out her cheeks in protest.
“But then again, if we never let it show, how’s Okarin supposed to realize how kind you are?”
“Kindness isn’t something you broadcast for the world to see.”
The two of them exchanged a glance and smiled quietly.
”…I’m really glad I came here.”
“So am I~. Sleeping like a rock every night without having to live in fear… ahhh… yeah, never mind that last part.”
No matter how carefree Akari usually acted, there were moments when the shadow crept into her smile.
It was hard to miss the faint undercurrent of trouble within the family.
But I made no effort to pry further.
Poking at a wound that doesn’t want to be touched is just wrong.
Besides… if they really want to say it, I’m sure these kids will open up on their own eventually.
“Thank you for properly respecting us… Sensei.”
Nanako gave a graceful bow.
“It’s only natural given that you’ve taken them in. Don’t go thanking me over something so trivial.” “Mmm~… fwahaha ♡”
Akari broke into a dazed, melting smile. “What?”
“Nope… I’m just realizing every single day how happy I am…” Oh well.
“The movers are coming tomorrow, so pack up your stuff. We’ll buy the large furniture after we’ve settled in.”
“Oh, I see. So you were holding off on shopping because of the move?”
”…I see! As expected from Sensei, everything is perfectly organized!” ★ It was a day off from work. In the morning, the movers arrived.
Misae’s personal belongings had all been packed into cardboard boxes. Clothes, cosmetics, and so on.
“We wanted to help! You’re doing absolutely all the work yourself, Karin.” Akari said, looking dissatisfied.
「Idiot. This is a responsibility I should have to settle myself」
「…Could you let me bear some of the burden? Nanae asked timidly.
「No. Something this filthy isn’t something a child should carry. You guys don’t need to worry about it; just live your lives freely and carefree」
I ruffled Nanae’s black hair with my hand. She had her lips pursed in a pout.
I know what she wants to say, and I’m not so dull as to be unaware of her concern.
But this is absolutely not an issue that allows for such involvement. Not something like this.
Including the furniture that was no longer needed, I had it all sent to his house.
「Oh Karin, how wasteful~ Those beds and stuff are super high-end furniture」
「…And you expect that after making Sensei pay full price for expensive furniture, it’s quite the shameless claim to say it was your own」
「Isn’t she insufferable, that old hag?」
「It’s fine. I don’t need such a big bed anymore anyway」
I signed for the removal crew and paid them in cash.
The contractor bowed and took off. “Well then, let’s head to the new place.”
“Oh!… Wait, where is it?”
“It’s close. But it’s still about a twenty-minute drive by car, you know.”
I grabbed the remaining luggage and headed down out of the apartment.
Since I had given all the expensive furniture to Misae, and hired a separate company for the appliances, only my personal belongings were left. I made my way toward the parking lot.
“Wow! You actually have a car, Karin-sis?!” It was a standard four-seater passenger vehicle. “Is that really so shocking?”
“No… it’s just that you’re twenty-nine and live in the city center, Karin-sis. You don’t need a car… or rather, wouldn’t you not have one because you don’t need one?”
“Well, the trains are enough for me to get by, but… Misae said she wanted to use it for grocery runs.”
”…For what, ‘grocery runs’? You haven’t even once cooked dinner for sensei!”
“She definitely used it on dates with her affair partner. Ahh, that makes me so mad!”
“Whatever, it’s all in the past now. Come on, hurry up and get in.” I sat down in the driver’s seat.
“I’m good sitting in the back, so Sis, you take the passenger seat!”
“Ehh…!? Eeeeh…! I-I can, okay~…”
Nanako buried her face in a deep blush.
“What’s got you all flustered? Hm? Big sis…? Hm~?”
Chuckling to herself, Akari poked at her sister’s cheek with a finger.
“I-It’s just… going on a car ride side-by-side with… Sensei… makes it feel like a d-d-date or something…”
“Wah. What’s that supposed to be? Nnngh, if you turn that red over something so minor, you’re gonna faint from embarrassment when the real deal happens, you know?”
“Huuu… W-Why don’t you and Akari go instead~”
“Uhh… Uhm… No… I think I’m fine with not going~…”
Akari blushed, turning her face away as she spoke.
Huffing and puffing without the slightest effort to make a point, she mimicked whistling a tune.
“…And you’re embarrassed just sitting in the passenger seat too.”
“Hah? I’ve got plenty of room for that~?”
”…Well then, get in. Hurry up.”
My sister crowded Akari into the passenger seat. “Hicch…! Stop it!”
”…You two can just sit in the back.” “Ah, yeah.” The two of them moved to the rear seats. “Don’t forget your seatbelts.”
“Aren’t you going to take the passenger seat? Akari-chan has big tits, so the seatbelt cuts right into them, you know.”
Akari grabbed her breasts with both hands and deliberately squeezed them, emphasizing their size. Watching this, I let out a sigh.
“I know it’s tight. But everyone has to wear seatbelts in the back seat now. And what if I slam on the brakes and you hit your head? So just put yours on quickly.”
“Faaai… this guy is immune to my moves… sigh, Akari-chan’s tits are crying out here. The guys in her class always stare, yet he doesn’t even look.”
”…But that’s exactly why it’s relaxing, isn’t it?”
“Mm. Yeah. Our classmates keep giving us creepy looks at our chests every time we see them, so it’s annoying. It’s kinda childish.” Then, Akari added:
“Akari-san is just… relaxed, I guess? You don’t get too eager or desperate… I think that’s the best!” “Yeah, no doubt about it.”
I started the car and drove toward our new home.
“Look, look, Akari-kun, here comes a Pi slash~! Look how tight and jiggly Big Sis’ tits are because of this seatbelt!”
“Stop it, Akari! Don’t do things like that to distract me while I’m driving!”
“It’s fine, Karin. Look, she’s not even checking her rearview mirror.”
“Mmm… I guess, but… that’s kind of sad…” Before long, they arrived at the new residence.
The car was parked in the parking space next to the building.
“Whoa! This is awesome! A two-story single-family home! Renting a place in Tokyo really makes you look incredibly cool, Karin!”
Akari looked up at the rental house, saying this with excitement.
“A-And… are you sure this is okay? It’s such an… expensive-looking place.”
“Idiot. Why would you even worry about it, Nanako?”
I ruffled Nanako’s hair messily.
“This place is close to the new publisher, and despite its age, it was just renovated and is very livable. I only rented it for my own convenience. You guys don’t need to worry about it.”
“And yet, it’s within cycling distance from our school too.” “Huh? Really?”
“Yeah, actually, the school is closer. Karin-chan must have picked this place to accommodate both us and her, right~?”
…She’s gonna be telling her big sis about everything, no doubt.
“Th-thank you, sensei…”
“We don’t really like trains, y’know~”
It was obvious just by looking; Akari and the others had figures that were undeniably attractive to guys.
They could get harassed sexually by perverts on the train.
From here, they can make it to school on bikes or on foot.
“To think you’d go through so much trouble for us…”
“I was entrusted with your care by your parents. It’s only natural I should do this much.” “Sensei…”
“Nngh… Okay, Karin! I knew you were the best!”
Akari suddenly launched herself at my back, hugging me tight.
I felt a soft touch and distinct firmness against my back. I untangled Akari’s hands.
“Look here, Akari. You’re not in elementary school anymore, so stop clinging to me like that.” “But no way~♡”
“That sort of thing, save it for your lover when you actually have one.”
“Ehh, just call me Karin then! ♡ Since lovers are cute, right?~”
Honestly, I just wish he’d get a grip and realize I’m a guy.
He’s stuck in his elementary school head forever… oh well, give it up.
