Chiyu peeked out from the gap in the door, staring at me intently.
“Wow! It’s Chiyu! I’m so glad you’re safe!”
But seeing Shouko jumping up and down in joy at her own safety, Chiyu seemed to have lost some of her venom. “You too… Shouko-chan”
“Hey, that nickname’s cool! I’m Shouko-chan! Hahaha”
”…You were with Dr. Yashan, huh? Or maybe… when Souta-kun held your hand, you both transferred together?” Shion seemed to be pondering something.

I feel awkward when I realize why my childhood friend isn’t coming out of the door.

Shion and Chiyu shake hands, but I look at Chiyu’s hand and recall what happened earlier.

The fire we used for the bath and dinner had been extinguished, and the ashes were stored in a pottery jar and itemized.
