Multiple updates today, this is the first one.
Despite a few mishaps, I managed to get a large amount of ‘ordinary wood’ with the black-haired ponytailed, serious-minded committee chair, Yuzuriha.
Upon returning, I look at the space where the hut is currently situated.
This space uses the cliff bottom, but there’s no real problem with it, so there’s no reason to move.
I think I’ll just set up my new home here.
“Well, what kind of house should I make…”
“First of all, we need a bedroom for you, Kojiro-kun,” Yuzuriha says again.
It seems the three of them and I sleeping together was quite a shock.
“Well, I could just use the new house for the girls and sleep in the hut…”
When I say this, Yuzuriha makes a face like she’s overstepped her bounds and denies it.
“W-Well, I didn’t mean it like that. I don’t want to isolate you or anything…”
To calm her down, I smile at her.
「Ahaha, I get it. I just thought it was a simple matter. I’d rather have a place to store weapons if I’m going to be joining you guys.」
「It would be nice if there was a place to keep things you use regularly so I don’t have to call you every time I need something.」
While preparing the food, Shion offered her opinion.
「Yeah, that’s a good idea. For example, if an intruder comes or if I have to join you guys to get weapons, it’s a hassle. Having a weapons room from the start is a good idea.」
「Haha, I was thinking of something like a storage room or a dressing room, but that’s a good idea too.」 Shion chuckled.
For instance, it’s a hassle to ask me every time the soap runs out.
Maybe it’s a good idea to have a place to store such items.
「And considering we might get more members in the future… maybe a bit bigger…?」
The little house in front of them was originally built for Shizui and two others.
It ended up accommodating four people that day, but five would be tight.
Instead of rebuilding the house every time a new member joins, it might be better to build a bigger house from the start.
「Kouya-kun, can you build two-story buildings?」 「Yeah, I think I can.」
「If that’s the case, how about making everyone’s bedrooms on the second floor and the living room and kitchen on the first floor?」
「So we’re going for a normal house feel. Then maybe we should add a door that connects to the bathroom so we can easily go there from the house.」
「That’s a good idea. Also, if the bathroom has a roof, we can take a bath even when it’s raining.」
「That’s true. Right now, the bathroom, kitchen, work area, and dining table are all under the open sky. Still, when we have extra materials, it’s hard not to want to do more and more.」
「Of course, you’re the one generating things, so please take into account what I want.」
「No, maybe we should discuss this with everyone when we’re all together. For now, let’s just work out the basics between me and Four Rods.」
Four Rods smiled softly at my words. “Alright, let’s do that. ”
With Four Rods’ help, we quickly solidified the basic layout.
Once that was done, we went to help Shion.
「Then, how about you guys slice up some meat for a barbecue?」
『Craft Generation』 is strict about cooking, and only cuts meat up to the point of disassembly.
It can roughly separate the major parts, but after that, you have to arrange and cut them yourself.
Four Staves and the two of them cut up the roast meat.
“Hey, Four Staves. Can we use the akebi peel like stuffed peppers?”
While working, Shion talks to Four Staves. “Yes.”
“I tried biting a little, and it’s very bitter, but I guess we can use it after blanching it.”
“That should be fine.”
“Hmm hmm. Oh, Koino, can I borrow another knife?” “Sure.” He hands her a stone knife.
Shion minces the meat with two stone knives and chops the mushrooms finely.
Then she adds salt to the meat and mushrooms in the bowl, mixes them together, and stuffs them into the akebi peel.
“All we have to do is fry them up when the two of them get back.”
“That sounds good! I’m looking forward to it, and it’ll be different from just eating the mushrooms and meat.”
“I’m glad you think so.”
”…Thinking about the barbecue, though, I’m a bit worried about the calories.”
「Well, today’s a welcome party for you, Four Rods.」
「A welcome party… y-yeah. I’m grateful for the hospitality.」 Four Rods looks embarrassed.
「It’s not about calories, but you want a lot of things like vegetables, rice, and condiments.」
「Yeah. You can see how spoiled my life in Japan was. I want bread, eggs, and ketchup. Oh, and bacon…」
Bread requires wheat, eggs require chickens, and ketchup needs several ingredients.
I could make bacon from boar meat, but…
I don’t know the finer details of curing meat, so maybe I should ask someone.
「I want to drink cocoa…」
Can I make cocoa if I have cocoa beans?
Actually, if I can get cocoa beans, I want to make chocolate too…
The three of them reminisce about their life in Japan for a while.
「If the mysterious blackboard appears in my dreams tonight, something else might be added to the vote.」
「That’s true. And to think we can talk about what we want to eat rather than what we can eat, we’re really lucky.」
「I agree. If everyone hadn’t helped me, I might have ended up wandering around with a spell I couldn’t control.」
「Heh, my ability is even worse. If Shouko-chan hadn’t picked me up, I don’t know what would have happened.」 The two of them look at me.
「You’re right, Koji-kun’s ability plays a big role.」
「Yeah. I’m sorry to rely on you so much, but please let me know if something’s bothering you.」
「I will. So far, though, crafting is fun and there’s no problem.」
As we chat and move our hands, the two of them and Mashiro return. 「I’m home!」 「The queen has returned.」
「Welcome back, Shouko-chan, Senyuu-chan, Mashiro-kun. Can I start making dinner?」
「Having a wife like Shio-chan at home is nice!」
「Whose wife? If it’s your wife, I’m sorry, but I can’t give up the position of first lady.」
「You… wife? Dr. Yama, you’re jumping the gun!」
With five of us, it gets noisy all of a sudden. 「Alright, let’s have dinner.」
「Today we have boar meat barbecue, mulberry stuffed meat, and a soup with mushrooms and vegetables.」
「Wow! Our diet has improved so much in just two days!」
「After we eat, we’re going to build a new house. It’s going to be a two-story house.」
「Minori, you’ve cut down a lot of trees, haven’t you? I was going to help you, but I can’t now.」
Shouko says this with admiration, but Shihou seems to be remembering today’s failure, and she looks bitter.
「I won’t forget the Fenrir hut incident, so we’ll think about it later.」 I tell Shouko.
「My room will be next to Souchan’s.」
「Then I’ll be next to the opposite side. What, are you going to decide by who’s faster!?」
Shouko’s voice is panicked at Chiyo and Shion’s words. 「Ah, you two…」 Shihou looks troubled.
「Hey, everyone. We should include Shihou-san in the meeting later.」
「Yeah. For the healthy operation of the group, it’s necessary.」 「M-Minori looks angry.」
Only Shouko was blushing as if she was embarrassed.
Another secret meeting between girls, like the one that took place yesterday.
That’s why today, Shion and I ended up doing what we did in the bathroom…
And Miko and Yotsuwa too…? Just thinking about it makes my temperature rise.
Shaking my head, I thought that getting entangled in worldly desires was a no-no, and I generated a stone slab for grilling meat.
I have some urgent business today, so updates might be a bit irregular,
but I’ll be posting multiple updates, so I hope you’ll read them.
