We step into our base from the boundary with the Clear Phoenix Party.
For a brief moment, we experience the unique sensation of passing through the barrier. “Welcome back.”
It’s as if she had been waiting for us, a maid named Roa greeted us.
It’s almost like a sixth sense.
I tell her, “I’m back,” as she shakes her cream-colored hair and bows. “Oh, thank you for welcoming us,” Chiyu nods cheerfully.
Mikuron heads toward the Fenrir hut’s roof, and Hyorou moves his head around, looking for someone.
“Back already? Welcome home!”
A cheerful gal, Shokushi, bursts out of the entrance.
She’s loosened a few buttons on her uniform, perhaps because it’s too tight, but it’s not a sight a guy can bear.
Even though I’ve become close enough to her to see her skin underneath her clothes, I still get flustered.
“Pfuu. Ahaha, Hyorou, you’re back.”
Hyorou approaches Shokushi, rubbing his cheek against hers.
I see, you wanted to see your master.
“Welcome back. Are everyone safe?” “Welcome—!”
Luminus-sensei looks worried, and Mito is her usual self.
“Yes, sensei. Everyone returned safely.”
“Mito, you should at least say ‘welcome back’ properly.”
Deepo and Serina answered. “A-And Shion…?”
Genjuu mentioned the head chef who wasn’t here. Roa answered.
“Shion-sama is waiting for her master.”
Does she need something for cooking?
“Got it. Should I go to the kitchen?” “Please do.” “Understood.”
We enter the house and head toward the living room.
Shion notices me from inside the kitchen.
「Ah, Sōsuke-kun! Welcome back!」
Shion ties her hair back while cooking, and it looks really nice.
“I’m back. I heard Shion was looking for me.” “Yeah, but before that—”
She comes up to me, shaking her hair like a horse’s tail, and hugs me. “Shi, Shion?”
“I’m glad you’re safe. Is everyone else okay?” “Yeah, everyone’s fine.”
I’ll tell her about Momo later, but for now, this is enough.
“I know you’re in the right place, but it’s tough not being able to support you at times like this.” Shion’s voice sounds sad.
“I’ve been working hard to look forward to Shion’s cooking. I’m being supported, too.”
While my heart races, I gently hug her back.
“Hee hee. Then I have to do my part.”
After giving me one last hug, Shion suddenly lets go, and I follow suit.
“Hey, if you’re going to work in the afternoon, you should eat a hearty lunch, like steak, how about that?” “Sounds good!”
Now that I finally have beef, I want to eat as much as I can. Grilled meat is good, but so is steak.
Heh, glad you like it. I was thinking of waiting until everyone gets back since there are different ways to cook it. “What should I do?”
I was thinking of grilling it outside, so I need you to set it up and bring out the salad, soup, and side dishes. “Got it.” “Heh, thank you as always.” “You’re welcome.”
So I packed up everything from the kitchen and went outside with Shion.
“Everyone, good job. We’re having steak for lunch.”
Once Shion joined everyone, she announced the menu. “Yay!” Mago was especially happy.
While Shion was talking to everyone, I finished setting everything up.
I set up the table and chairs along with the other things needed for cooking.
On a whim, I generated a tablecloth out of linen and laid it out on the table.
“Hey, that’s great! It looks like a restaurant!”
Mago came over and complimented me.
“Hmm. Since we’re doing this, how about Shion being the chef?” Chiyu’s suggestion seemed like a great idea.
「Oh, that might be good. As long as Shion doesn’t mind.」
「Huh? Hehe, then I’ll ask you to do it.」
So, I generated a chef’s hat and placed it on Shion’s head. She smiled bashfully.
“It suits you, it suits you. I could make you a uniform, but it would take time to change.”
“Yeah. Besides, I have an apron that Kousuke gave me.”
I had made and given it to her before.
It was an apron embroidered with a cat. “Hey, Chef Shion~” Jun芽 called out.
“I’ll help you, Chef.”
“Hehe, please do, Roa.”
Shion and Roa were in charge of the cooking.
After confirming that everyone else had taken their seats, I placed the salad and soup on the table as Shion had asked me to do earlier.
“Everyone, how do you want your steak cooked?”
I wondered if I could remember the orders for this many people, but Roa said, “Understood,” so it should be fine.
“The soup is potato puree!”
“The salad is cabbage, right? French style?”
Shouko and Junme taught me.
I didn’t know about the steak, but knowing about the soup must mean they peeked at the cooking.
Thinking about the two of them made me feel warm.
The soup and salad were both very delicious.
By the way, the cabbage and salad were brought back from the ‘Bonus Area’ and grown with Yonehata’s ‘Plant Magic.’ Speaking of which…
“Teacher, shall I get you a beer?”
They had also brought back barley. “Huh? Oh, um…”
It’s a bit late to think about it now, but it seems he still has trouble drinking in front of students.

「I know, I want to drink something fizzy.」
The gal duo is really energetic and they brighten up the atmosphere.
「Haha, of course, everyone can say what they like. I’ll get it right away.」
While taking everyone’s orders, I heard Lumina-sensei whisper, “Sparkling wine…”
I heard her clearly, so I got it for her.
「Wow. Ugh, thank you so much, Koyo-kun…」
She drinks it with great care and seems to enjoy it.
I’ve been thinking this for a while, but Lumina-sensei’s diet has probably been richer since she came to the desert island.
Seeing her appreciation for Shiho’s cooking and my drinks, I can’t think otherwise.
I wish she could enjoy good meals even when she goes back to Earth.
But, since we’ll be returning to the student-teacher relationship, it’ll be hard to eat together.
Or, maybe I could start a club and have her be the advisor?
Well, I’ll think about it later.
While I was thinking about that, the main course arrived.
Seion and Roa came with the smell of the meat roasting.
It seems they adjusted the timing so that the steak would be served at the same time despite being cooked to different doneness levels.
Seion was originally skilled at cooking, but it feels like she’s gotten even better during our time on this desert island. “Sorry for the wait.” “Everyone, please enjoy.”
We all sat down and ate the steak. ”…!!”
It was so delicious that it blew away the fatigue from the battle with Trent and the Slimes.
Seion and Roa smiled contentedly at our reactions.
With this, we should be able to handle the battle with the “Red and Black Arvanc” in the afternoon.
