“……It really does exist, the bonus area.”
Yume-kyō murmured.
That’s right. On the night of the seventh day, we had fallen asleep and been summoned into the consciousness space of the bonus area.
Shion’s maidenhead experience was the greatest; we stayed glued together until the very end, so much so that I don’t even know when I fell asleep.
Coming to her senses upon arriving in the bonus area, Shion’s face was flushed bright red as she covered it with both hands.
“Did the ‘Analgesic’ spell work?”
Chiyu had called out to Shion in that state.
”……Y-yes. There was a feeling of first-time sensation, but there was almost no pain. Um… thank you.”
“Mm. Once you’re up, I’ll cast ‘Intermediate Heal’ on you too.”
“That’s… that sounds good. I think I probably need it… ah, ahaha…”
While the pain seemed to have been mitigated by magic, it was an undeniable fact that a stick had been inserted into her unexperienced secret area.
Reflecting on it now, I truly am glad Chiyu is here.
“Ahem… well, getting straight to business, let’s go retrieve the items we decided on beforehand.”
The existence of the bonus area itself had already been shared with Yume-kyō.
And we had also settled on who would bring which items back with us.
With me, Chiyu, Motoho, Shion, Fumipou, Rora, and Yume-kyō, our party consisted of seven people, meaning the number of items we could take was ‘7’.
“I’ll take a game.”
First, for myself, it’s game software to play on the console I acquired yesterday. “Mm. I’ll take a shower.”
Chiyu wanted an electric portable shower for the bathhouse.
This is used with USB charging, and since we already have solar panels, there’s no problem with recharging it.
If the user experience is good, I plan to stock up on these in bulk, just like the hairdryer.
“I’ll take a digital watch. It’s actually been kinda inconvenient not having one~”
We had been roughly dividing our actions based on AM and PM, but knowing the exact time is certainly easier in many ways.
For moving as a group, it’s important to set specific times for meals and bedtime.
Regarding the basic time settings, the Mystery Blackboard once woke us up at five in the morning during the previous event.
If something similar happens next time, setting the clock to 5:00 AM upon waking would allow us to track the time on the unoccupied island thereafter.
There might be a discrepancy of a few minutes, but for life on an unoccupied island, it’s not something to worry about.
“I’ll take a full-length mirror.”
Shion chose a full-length mirror.
It’s actually strange this hadn’t come up as an agenda item before, but mirrors are a very important item for the women.
We decided not to place the full-length mirror standing upright as is, but rather to lay it on its side and position it on the changing table in the undressing room.
This way, multiple people can use the mirror at once.
“I’m textbook material today too.”
Shinhō was a textbook lesson.
That makes two subject lessons today.
Once our lives settle down a bit more, it might be good to strictly set aside study time.
Or perhaps establish free time where those who wish to can receive tutoring from Shinhō.
“I shall opt for the rechargeable electric vacuum cleaner.”
Loa said, quietly.
It’s a relief we can choose electrical appliances since we have two solar panels here.
Given that a vacuum cleaner is what she picks when told to choose whatever she likes, one might ask if that’s really true to her maid persona.
Perhaps it’s better to say it’s just like her.
”…I don’t need anything. This place exists because of Kuno, right? I want to avoid piling up more debts.”
Yumekai declined the choice.
Since we had been informed of this in advance, we had already decided what to get her instead.
Relying on Roa’s ability, we identified what she wanted while carefully crafting a plan so it wouldn’t burden her given her tendency to be modest.
The item was a ‘laptop PC’.
That alone won’t be enough, so I plan to pick out more items in tomorrow’s bonus area as well.
So, as always, we spent plenty of time exploring today and had everyone select their goods.
We ended up taking home a total of seven items.
Once the selection was complete, my vision turned pitch white, and I was flung into a space of pure, pristine whiteness.
◇
After teleporting, I noticed that while everyone had been seated side by side before, today Yumezai alone was sitting in the seat directly behind me.
“Oh… did they arrange it just like the actual classroom?”
In the classroom, seven students are arranged vertically across six rows, so it seems they copied that layout here.
With myself, Chiyu, Shouko, Shiine, Fuka Ho, and Roa filling up the six seats in front of me, Yumezai must have ended up right behind me.
”…Well, I guess it’s fine to just leave it like this.”
“Nah, no way, that would leave Selen lonely!”
With that, Shouko moved her own desk next to hers.
That kind of quick reflex and decisiveness—truly typical of Shouko.
“It’s not that I feel lonely. It just means you don’t have to make any useless moves.”
“Irina~? Are you one of those tsundere types?”
“In all the time we’ve known each other, where exactly have you seen me act affectionate?”
Yumeji narrowed his eyes in a glare, but Shōko let out a dry, cackling laugh.
“Day seven has ended.”
“A question. If you had to fight, who would you pick: a goblin or an Aervank?”
“Goblin / Aervank”
Tension filled the classroom.
”……I, seriously, monsters are actually being added?”
Shouko swallowed hard, her throat making a soft noise.
“Hmm. A goblin and a beautiful girl? That’s the worst combination possible. A crisis of sexual integrity.”
“Those… goblins still show up in smartphone games and stuff, so I get them… but what the hell is an Avranke?”
“I have no idea about either one… It seems everyone else is confused too, since there hasn’t been a single vote.”
“I am also unaware of such creatures.”
Shion, Fukubou, and Roa seemed just as clueless.
“Since it’s listed alongside goblins, doesn’t that mean they’re both considered low-tier monsters…? If so, I think my barrier should be able to repel them with plenty of room to spare.”
“Let’s ask the Mystery Blackboard. Go ahead and explain about Goblins and Aervank.”
• About Goblins
Ugly little demons with green skin.
Possesses the intelligence and strength of a human child.
Evil creatures that prey on beasts and humans alike.
They live in caves and care for nothing but cruelty and reproduction.
Disclaimer
Creatures killed or injured by goblins require twice the normal time to respawn.
「The moment a transmigrator is drawn into a goblin’s nest, they are classified as dead. Consequently, the goblin population on the island increases by one hundred.’
Silence descended upon the women.
For instance, if a boar is normally replenished at a rate of one per week, it would take two weeks for it to respawn after being killed by a goblin.
This seems to be a setting designed to provide justification for transmigrants to actively hunt goblins.
Being declared dead the moment pulled into a cave is harsh, but perhaps it’s also a mercy.
Since it means they wouldn’t actually suffer such fates.
However, the negative 「100」 points for death would still be applied.
What was far more terrifying was the possibility of being toyed with by goblins before being dragged into their nest.
On Avank…
A large beaver covered in blue-black fur.
Superhuman strength capable of hauling massive boulders, and claws sharp enough to split a human belly open.
Preferring beautiful women, with a violent temper, and eating humans.
Dwelling near water, building nests, and hunting fish or humans.』
Since there are no fish deployed right now, the Avranque would only have humans to eat.
“Both options suck ass!!”
Shouko’s scream echoed through the classroom.
“Yeah…… I guess this is a matter of choosing between a monster that lives in a cave and one that lives near water.”
“Mm. Besides us, there are probably kids who’ll use the caves as their base too. If we pick Goblins, that place could turn into their nest.”
“I see…… So if we choose the water’s edge, we’d have to encounter monsters every single time we secure drinking water.
This is a no-win situation where either choice leads to disaster,” Chiyu and Shiune said.
Goblins, based in the caves, would likely appear across the island.
Avranque, based near water, would make securing drinking water difficult.
“Do Avranque appear in the ocean as well?”
『Avranque only appear where there is freshwater.』
The answer to Fuka’s question was good news for us, at least.
“Master can generate drinking water from seawater, if I recall correctly.”
“Aye. So in our case, choosing Avrank is a near-zero risk option.”
We just have to stay away from lakes, springs, and rivers.
”…It seems the other transmigrators who don’t have Takano with them figured that watching only the water’s edge was better than being on guard against the entire forest.”
The other transmigrators had likely asked about the differences in monsters as well, for the votes for Avrank were increasing.
“Alright, let’s cast our votes for Avrank too.”
The women nodded, and seven votes for Avrank were cast all at once.
[Since a majority has been reached, voting is now closed.]
[From the eighth day, ‘Avrank’ will be placed in the environment.]
[Please note that defeated monsters will be redeployed ten days later.]
”…Hey. What happens if I surrounded a water area with my barrier?”
[You cannot designate an area where monsters exist as the range for your barrier.]
However, after wiping out the monsters, it is possible to designate the barrier’s range during the interval before they respawn.
“Also, in that case, monster respawns will not occur within the barrier’s area.”
This was good news too.
If we wiped out all of Arvanke from one waterside and enclosed that spot with a barrier, no more monsters would spawn there.
In other words, we could secure a safe source of fresh water.
Going to the sea was an option, but having multiple ways to procure water never hurt.
“Is it possible for us to defeat the monsters using the abilities granted to us?”
“Yes, you are capable of hunting and defeating the monsters with the abilities chosen immediately before the transfer and granted at the moment of arrival.”
Which meant Shinfu’s “Attribute Magic” worked, and me dropping items from my “Inventory” was also a valid method.
Those with combat-ready abilities should be able to hold their own against the monsters.
It would be a lie to say I wasn’t worried about those who didn’t have such abilities… but there was no way I could reach out to every single one of them.
I had to prioritize my comrades’ safety above all else.
“Commencing Day Eight.”
My vision flooded with white.
When we woke up, we would be on an desert island in another world, infested with monsters.
I’ve touched on this in the afterword several times before,
Since it’s 『La La Ku Mu Jin Tou Rai Fu』 (Relaxed Uninhabited Island Life),
you can read with the mindset that “the protagonists will handle any trouble easily,” and you’ll be fine.
This is a reassuring story where Sojusuke and his companions breeze through the harsh life on the desert island,
ensuring a safe and easy ride for the readers.
