In that day’s bonus area, we were granted the right to take home seven items.
It was a textbook for Shinhō’s subject. That would make it the third textbook for that specific course.
With the full set of second-year high school textbooks in hand, it might be a good idea to start looking into reference books or even the materials for the third year.
Although, who knew if our life on this desert island would actually drag on that long.
Chiyu chose additional controllers to use with the gaming console I had purchased.
The console itself came with controllers that could be split for two-player games, but thanks to Chiyu’s choice, it became possible to play with up to four people at once.
Matching Chiyu’s pick, I selected a party game.
It was a board game based on ludo, incorporating various elements, and had always been a staple we played with friends since we were little.
Tsuko and Shion chose portable showers. This meant two more units would be added to our haul.
I’d noticed the utility myself, and apparently they found them easy to use as well. We reached a consensus that this was the most efficient way to wash up, solidifying our plan to eventually acquire enough units for everyone in the group.
Indeed, from a girl’s perspective, repeatedly hauling buckets of hot water back and forth must be quite a chore.
Our party has several members with long hair, so it’s entirely possible their arms would get tired before they could thoroughly rinse it all out.
Now, the last two picks belong to Roa and Yume-gai.
Maid Loah selected a printer to pair with the laptop she had recently taken out.
There was no doubt it would be a relief for various tasks, like copying textbooks and documents or printing data created on the laptop, so this item had been decided on by consensus.
Paper isn’t an issue, as I can generate it perfectly using my ‘Craft’ ability.
The problem is the ink, but since we expect to return to the bonus area, we can just bring more out whenever we run out.
Yume passed on her selection again this time, so we chose a tablet PC.
It was also part of the process for secretly gifting Yume what she desired, and it’s not something that would be troublesome to have anyway.
With that, our selections were complete: ‘Textbook,’ ‘Controller,’ ‘Game Software,’ ‘Portable Shower,’ ‘Portable Shower,’ ‘Printer,’ and ‘Tablet PC,’ totaling seven items.
”…Up until now, I’ve been prioritizing things that couldn’t be made with my ‘Craft’ ability, but I might start choosing items where the material availability is uncertain soon.”
I spoke to everyone just before finishing our selection.
“Mm. Since metal isn’t available, I haven’t been able to ask Takumi for wire bras.”
Chiyu said this, nodding softly.
“Same with clothes; we can’t get the base materials. I mean, linen, wool, and cashmere are great, but…”
Meiko added.
As a top-tier girl from a prestigious high school, she might feel frustrated by her inability to fully enjoy the stylish fashion current materials simply can’t provide.
The world is filled with people who aren’t like me—people who don’t just scrape by with the bare minimum and zero self-discipline.
“If cotton or silk were added as options, the range of clothing Soosuke-san could create would definitely expand considerably…… But if things don’t work out in the next few days, I think it’s worth considering bringing back finished garments from outside.”
Shinhou seemed to agree.
“In that case, food supplies are a good idea too. Soosuke-kun… I mean, everyone probably wants to eat rice sometimes, so picking something with a large quantity and taking it home is an option.”
Shion made a statement befitting her status as the head chef.
“If you permit me, I believe we should make your room more splendid. While setting aside the matter of it being spacious enough for the master of the manor, at least I’d like to request that a large, luxurious bed be placed there.”
“Hmm. Agreed. Let’s buy a bed sized appropriately for a harem king. Even one generated from scratch is fine.”
At Loa and Chiiru’s remarks, the women blushed.
Yume-gaia twitched her cheek.
”…Ah, let’s talk about the room size later. If more members join us, we’ll run out of rooms, so I might end up rebuilding the entire house to be larger.”
“I don’t know much about harems or anything, but honestly, Takano does all sorts of things for the other members and never really does anything that benefits himself. I’ve never been inside, but based on the layout, isn’t his room the same size as everyone else’s?”
Yume-gaia said.
“Hehe, you’re right. Even though he created these abilities himself, you’d think he could act more like a king, but Soosuke-kun never does that.”
“Well, that’s just typical of Soosuke, isn’t it?”
”…Yes. I think that’s precisely why I was able to trust you, Sousuke. You make everything so naturally equitable.”
I decided not to think of it as excessive praise…
If I were a member who joined later, and while we called ourselves “comrades,” the leader enjoyed superior living conditions or had it better than the rest, I would undoubtedly harbor distrust.
The argument that I was able to build relationships without being intimidating because I treated myself the same as everyone else was convincing when put that way.
Even though these are unconscious actions, being praised makes me feel a little self-conscious.
“Indeed, it seems to reflect your master’s kind heart… However, now that the unity of the party is firm, I believe the chief has a right to receive treatment befitting their status.”
The ladies nodded in agreement with Loha’s words.
It seems they were suggesting that while equality is better for getting along initially, from an organizational perspective, a leader should act like a leader and hold a corresponding position.
”…Well, as long as it just means a slightly bigger room, I suppose it’s fine. Let me think about it.”
Besides, the fact is that our current bed is a bit too small for nighttime intimacy.
The closeness born from tight quarters has its merits, but it isn’t without feeling somewhat cramped at times.
Having a room spacious enough for a larger-sized bed was also personally appealing to me.
And so, having exhausted our time in the Bonus Area,
We were flung into a white void.
◇
The blackboard hovered in the air, and desks and chairs were arranged within a pristine white space.
“The eighth day has concluded.”
「We are pleased to announce the upcoming event!」
An event…!
Tension rippled through everyone.
Last time, only the single individual who secured the light orbs could obtain the 『Right to Return』.
Yet this time… 『・Regarding the Event
This is a special initiative held on an irregular basis.
Please be advised that the content and rewards may vary from event to event.』
『The event currently being held is Party Versus Event A.』
『・About Party Versus Event A
Duration —— From the morning of Day Ten until the conclusion of all matches, following the end of Day Nine.
Content —— Only parties composed of exactly five members may participate.
All participating parties will compete in a round-robin tournament.
Reward: In the event that a party secures a perfect record, all members of said party shall be granted ‘Right of Return.’
“Wait? Wait? Does that mean we can’t get a ‘Right of Return’ if there are five people this time? Isn’t that a great deal?”
Shoushi says that, but…
“No, Shoushi-chan. It’s only if they win all their matches, so it’s more likely that no one gets anything.”
“Ah, right…”
Yes.
In the first event, there was clear intent to grant a reward to at least one person.
But this time, the possibility is shown that it ends with no one gaining anything.
The maximum number of parties that can be formed by the forty transplanted people is eight.
To go undefeated in a round-robin tournament against all other parties, one needs to beat the seven other groups.
In other words, anything less than seven wins out of seven means no reward.
Of course, it’s unlikely that exactly eight parties would be formed so neatly, but…
”…It seems the event intends to pit the transplanted against each other.”
Introducing party mechanics to encourage unity, while incorporating a competitive element into the event.
If this is an experiment in interworld transplantation, they might be testing what happens when the transplanted are divided into multiple factions and each given the same objective.
Asking for one Hero party to be assembled and tasked with slaying the Demon King.
Or assembling multiple Hero parties and granting the reward only to the first one that successfully slays the Demon King.
It was something like, “Which of these is more efficient in saving the world? Let’s find out ourselves…” or something along those lines.
I might be overthinking it, but.
“Hmm. Either way, if we can seize the chance for the five of us to gain the ‘Right of Return,’ it would be a mistake not to.”
“While it’s not for me to say, our party seems to hold an advantage over the others, don’t you think?”
“I think so too.
It’s rare to find a party with this many useful abilities gathered together,” Yume-kai said.
I certainly thought so myself, but I also had my concerns.
This was something I should probably post as a question on the Mystery Blackboard later.
“Details regarding the event will be announced at the end of Day Nine.”
…I see, so they intend to keep the specific details under wraps right up until the last minute.
For now, it meant that Transferers aiming for a five-person party should start planning, and those already in large groups needed to discuss how to split up or who would participate.
Even if I decided to ask them questions later, it was time to make my choice between the two options first.
“A question. What do you need for life from here on out?
The homeroom teacher / the vice-homeroom teacher.”
“…………Huh?”
All of us stared in disbelief at the phrase written on the blackboard.
Whether teachers get pulled into the class transfer varies from work to work, but
in this story, it looks like a female teacher will be joining us later on.
Given the style of the work, adding more male teachers would be awkward, so a female teacher is confirmed.
I hope you’ll enjoy it.
