Reset【※To Our Readers】 This afterword is for
"all readers"!
It won't take more than a minute, so I'd appreciate it if you read through to the end.
"This is strange... what's happening...? I, I... shouldn't I have been executed...?"
Kisogawa tilted his head in confusion inside the cell.
The character 【Correct】 that should have been on the wall was gone.
"What the... is going on...?" "Hey, inmate 930, get out..."!
Through the iron bars appeared that man. The guard who had beaten him up!
"Y-you...!? What the hell is happening! I was supposed to be executed!?"
But the guard laughed mockingly, saying "What nonsense are you talking about."
"You're going to taste the suffering of hell from now on. Get out..." The cell door opened.
The guard's subordinates restrained Kisogawa and tried to drag him outside.
……What flashed through his mind was that torture.
Under the scorching sun, ninety days of relentless pain……
He couldn't bear to think they were going to do that again.
“N-no…… no……! I don’t want to……!”
But even as he wept and screamed, the guard’s subordinates seized Kisogawa and dragged him out of the cell.
“Lovely weather today, huh? Ah yes, inmate number 930.”
“No! Let me go! I don’t want to do this anymore……!” Kisogawa saw it. Far in the distance…… a crucifix stood there.
They would lash him to it, and under the blazing sun, he would be tormented without end……!
“No! I don’t want to! I don’t want to anymore…… nooooooo!”
……However, Kisogawa’s resistance was in vain; he was tortured until sunset once again.
After sunset, Kisogawa was returned to his cell.
“Haa…… haa…… Please…… don’t tell me…… I have to repeat this for another ninety days, do I……?” And that impossible fear became reality.
Kisogawa was subjected to relentless torture from dawn until dusk for another ninety days. And on the day after those ninety had passed. "Number 930. You are sentenced to death." Just as he suspected. Kisogawa fought back.
Once again, he was taken to that room.
A noose suspended from the ceiling of the room fastened around his neck.
"No! Help me! I don't want to dieeaaaaah!" Clunk! The trapdoor in the floor opened, and the ligature tightened around his throat.
He couldn't breathe... Kisogawa died...... ★
"Guhh! Haa... haa... haa..." "Awake now, Kisogawa." "Ka, Karuta Kogen..."
Once again, Kisogawa was lying in a bed.
The clock on the wall indicated 【9:02】.
"W-What... what was that just now?! Were those ninety days just a dream?!"
"Seems so. It might be fair to say it was a remarkably elaborate dream, though. Hey."
At Kogen's command, a scientist approached.
In his hand, he held a syringe.
"This medicine is called the [Master's Drug]" "The Master's...? Drug...?"
"You haven't heard of it, have you? During a match between two masters of the martial arts, it feels as if one second is stretched out many times over..."
I certainly... I feel like I've heard something like that.
"If you use the Master's Drug, you gain the same sensation of time stretching many times over that a master does. For you, ninety days will become one minute in our reality."
"W-what! What kind of thing is that...!? One minute equals ninety days!?"
Hah...! Kisugawa realized it then.
"O-ohey... a ninety-day sentence... n-no way... in our time..."
"That is so. Ninety days in our time. You have 89 days, 23 hours, and 58 minutes of... remaining punishment." Our one minute equals ninety days. One hour equals 5400 days.
One day equals 129,600 days (approximately 360 years). In other words...
"You have approximately 32,400 years remaining... you will come to taste that hellish suffering."
"Th-thirty-two thousand... two hundred... years..." Kisugawa wore a face of despair.
If he were to repeat that suffering for thirty thousand years...
It's beyond a matter of losing one's mind.
"Nooo—aaaaaaa! I don't wanna—aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Kisosawa wailed, sobbing uncontrollably.
Thirty thousand years more. That was an eternity of a duration to endure that hellish torment.
There was no way... she could possibly survive such a thing.
"Pleasee! Save me! Pleaseeaaaaa!" "Do it."
Kaita Kogen no longer said anything to Kisosawa at all.
He simply inflicted suffering. That was all he did—met out the punishment.
"Nooo—aaaaaaa! I don't wanna—aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
...Kisosawa received another injection.
The 90-day cycle repeated once more.
Until her sentence ended... over and over... again and again...
