It’s probably fine because it’s just a game when you’re in a raid battle.

But facing an actual monster like this? The tension is terrifying.

And it was brutal that there was no end in sight.

I’d love some way to visualize the enemy's limits—numbers, a gauge, something.

But complaining wouldn't change reality, so we just had to keep fighting.

Even after three massive rock drops, the Behemoth showed no signs of wavering.

It seemed annoyed, shaking its head and snarling.

The sheer pressure was intense.

It had barely started, yet the sea was already in view.

The Behemoth’s steps were huge, forcing us to match its pace as we retreated.

"Mikuron, are you okay?"

Mikuron's breathing was heavy.

Just then, her body began to glow faintly.

Mikuron’s speed increased... or rather, the slowed-down speed returned to normal.

Chiyu had cast a healing spell on her. Right.

This is our trump card.

Sen'yū has no mana cap, allowing her to heal the party's health and sustain a prolonged battle.

However, the inevitable attrition of her mental stamina is an unwelcome burden, making it preferable to end things quickly.

Alternatively, perhaps she will eventually master techniques to reinforce her mental strength as well.

"All right, the sea!"

The ocean came into view.

By the time they reached this point, a considerable number of trees had already been trampled underfoot; what would become of them?

According to the mysterious blackboard, plants lost by Behemoth take longer to regenerate.

Eating vegetation was one thing, but did that apply to trees merely crushed as well?

Having missed the explanation when it was given, I would have no choice but to ask about it in the white space tonight.

While contemplating such things, I initiated my fourth throw.

However, it seemed the enemy had learned from its mistakes.

The beast deftly swayed its nose and rammed a boulder.

The massive rock shattered, debris scattering across the surrounding area.

Storage also appeared to rely on my perception, so I could not capture and stow every single shard that flew off.

The shards scattered, raising concerns for my teammates, but thanks to Seirina’s barrier, the Highrow group seemed unharmed.

I judged it was safe because I could see something invisible deflecting the debris.

There were a few massive boulders in reserve, but they got smashed every time, depleting our stock almost instantly.

If things continued like this, was there anything I could do besides keep Behemoth’s attention focused on me?

No, I knew full well that this was a critical role to play.

Even now, from behind the invisible barrier, my companions were barraging Behemoth with magic.

It seemed like an insurmountable task, but the rapid-fire casting of spells was not in vain.

As proficiency increased, so did the variety of usable spells.

The three who could cast magic might achieve further growth through this event.

And then, we reached the sea.

With our current status, it seemed we couldn't get too far from the island.

I asked the mysterious blackboard about it, and I was told that if we tried to leave, we would be gently pushed back.

It apparently worked like trying to move past the edge of the map or into inaccessible areas in a game.

Behemoth trampled the sandy beach.

His next step sank into the ocean, though not enough to throw off his balance.

The vegetation along the coast would surely take some damage, but fighting here would minimize the casualties.

I dropped the massive boulder again.

Behemoth's long trunk moved once more.

But just before it struck the boulder, the momentum died down as if the trunk had collided with something.

As a result, the giant rock smashed into its head yet again.

Immediately after, I retrieved it. This allowed for immediate reuse.

On the other side of the barrier, I felt Selenas was smiling.

Thanks to her support, I could recycle the boulders.

From Behemoth's perspective, it must be incredibly irritating to see a small creature playing tricks on it so effectively.

"So you're actually fighting."

On Mikuron's back stood the Spinning Wheel of Dharma.

I hadn't had the time to appreciate it before, but that's quite the sense of balance.

I could see he’d arrived via a teleportation ability, but I was still a bit surprised.

"Hey, right now—"

Before I could finish saying we didn't have the luxury of time to chat, Tensenrin spoke up.

"I know why I'm here. I came to offer my help."

――Ah, so that's it.

Even if he couldn't take them down himself, he’d still earn his reward for contributing.

He must have predicted we were in combat and appeared at the "Back of Mikuron," a location he had "visited before."

On our end too, Tensenrin’s abilities would come in handy in various ways, so we were grateful.

"Mikuron... um, is teleporting the whole dragon possible?"

"It's possible."

"Good, climb on behind me. Mikuron, are you okay with that?"

It seemed Mikuron remembered Tensenrin too. Perhaps viewing him as the man who had taken me away before, he looked grumpy, but he didn't seem opposed to it.

"We have to keep dodging his nose attacks."

"Understood. You volunteered as a decoy for your beloved woman, I see. Truly commendable."

Oh right, Tensenrin had designated me as his friend for life.

Conversing with him, Behemoth's snout once again rushed toward us.

But this time, we didn't even need Mikron to evade it.

In an instant, the scenery swapped out, and before I knew it, the nose had passed directly beneath us.

This is convenient.

Mikron looked at me with eyes saying something like, "I could dodge that too!" so I scratched her and thought, well, if things get easier, isn't that a good thing?

Then came the boulder toss.

Terinami's barrier interfered with its snout, allowing us to successfully land the hit and store the damage.

"Hmm. If this is how it goes, then given enough time, we can defeat it, I suppose."

Yes, the fact that it takes time is the catch.

If it could be taken down easily, they wouldn't have unleashed it during an emergency event.

"My ability allows me to teleport anything I touch. Right now, this Black Dragon and you are about the limit of what I can handle. Let me know if there's anything else you need transported."

I see, so just touching it isn't enough; there are currently size limitations.

It would likely grow gradually in the capacity of what I can carry as I get more used to using it.

"Things to transport, huh. If you find anything that seems effective against it, please bring it."

"So, you're saying it's meant to be dropped by a dive-bombing attack?"

"That's right. That said, rock is pretty much the best thing available on this island right now. It'll still do the job, though."

If there’s anything more effective than rocks, he’d just use that.

Assuming it existed, anyway.

"...If we’re willing to take someone else’s property, don't you think there's one option?"

Turning Wheel’s words made me pause for a moment before the realization hit.

"The airplane!"

Hirata had brought a passenger plane to this desert island.

Still, if I just asked for it because I wanted to take down Behemoth, would he actually give it up?

It depended on the negotiation, really.

It seemed like a pretty solid idea, but pulling it off required me to temporarily leave this spot and go retrieve the aircraft.

The plane was far too large for Turning Wheel to carry around.

Before executing the plan, I needed to run it by the rest of the team.

Turning Wheel wasn't great at talking to women, but I could handle that part myself.

"I'll head over to Hirata's place first to start negotiations. I've seen that plane before."

Having an airplane, Hida is a man, so he should be able to talk without any problems.

If we've seen it once, that means we can teleport to Hida's base as well.

"Ah, in that case, I'll rely on you."

When I said that, he left with an "Ah" and the teleport wheel disappeared.

"Sousuke~~!"

Hearing that voice in the midst of combat was a coincidence.

It was Moe's voice.

Kuro Ryuu Gennak, Moe riding on it, and the female members of the Seiho party were closing in.

The number of people kept increasing.

This feels more like a raid battle.

Maybe it's okay because this is just a game.

Actually facing a monster like this is incredibly tense.

And it's tough not knowing when it will end.

I wish there was some way to visualize the enemy's limit, whether it's numbers or a gauge.

But no matter how much I complain, reality doesn't change. I have no choice but to keep going.

The Behemoth doesn't even flinch after three boulders are thrown at it.

It seems annoyed, shaking its head and bellowing. It's quite impressive.

Even though the battle has just started, the sea is already visible.

The Behemoth's steps are so large that we have to keep running to keep up. "Are you okay, Mikuon?" Mikuon's breathing is heavy.

Then her body glows faintly.

Mikuon's speed increases... or rather, her slowed speed returns to normal.

Chienju cast a healing spell on her. That's right. We have this.

Since Senyuu doesn't run out of MP, it's possible to wage a long battle by restoring the stamina of our allies.

However, the wear and tear on our mental strength is inevitable, so it's best to settle things quickly.

Or maybe, will we eventually learn how to enhance our mental strength too? "Alright, the sea!" The sea came into view.

Quite a few trees had already been trampled on the way here, but what's going to happen with them?

According to the mysterious blackboard, plants lost due to Behemoth will take longer to be repositioned.

I get it if they're eaten, but what about the ones that were trampled?

I missed that part, so I'll have to ask in the white space tonight.

While thinking about that, I began the fourth drop.

But even the enemy seems to have learned.

It cleverly bent its nose and hit a boulder.

The boulder shattered, and fragments flew around.

Storage seems to recognize me as important, as it can't catch and store all the scattered fragments.

I'm worried about my comrades as the fragments fly around, but thanks to Seirine's barrier, the Highrow group seems to be safe.

I saw something invisible deflecting the fragments, so I think it's okay to make that judgment.

I have a few giant rocks in stock, but they get crushed every time, so the stock runs out quickly.

Then, all I can do is keep the Behemoth's attention?

No, I understand that this is a major role.

Even now, my comrades are bombarding the Behemoth with magic from behind the invisible barrier.

It seems like an overwhelming task, but the continuous use of magic is not wasted.

Depending on the level of proficiency, the number of spells one can use increases.

The three who can use magic might achieve further growth in this event and reach the sea.

We're told that we can't get too far from the island right now.

I asked the mystery blackboard, and if we try to leave, we'll be gently pushed back.

It's like when you try to go to the edge of the map or an unreachable place in a game.

The Behemoth stepped on the beach.

With its next step, its foot sinks into the sea, but it doesn't lose its balance.

The vegetation along the coast will suffer, but fighting here will minimize the casualties. I drop another boulder.

The Behemoth's long nose moves again.

But just before it hits the boulder, the nose slows down as if it hit something.

As a result, the boulder hits its head again.

Immediately after, it's stored. Now it can be reused.

I think I hear Seirine laughing from the other side of the barrier.

Thanks to her, I can reuse the boulder.

For the Behemoth, it must be annoying to be toyed with by a little person. "So you're still fighting."

Tendo was standing on Mikron's back.

I didn't have time to think about it before, but he has pretty good balance.

I get that you used your teleportation ability, but I’m still a bit surprised. "Hey, now."

Before I could say that there was no time to talk, the Rotating Dharma spoke up preemptively.

"I know. I came to help." — Got it.

Even if we can’t defeat them, contributing still gets us a reward.

They must have predicted that we’d be fighting and appeared on the back of the ‘place they’ve been to before’—Mikuron’s back.

For us, the Rotating Dharma’s ability is quite useful, so it’s nice to have them here.

"Mikuron… and the dragon too, can you teleport?" "Possible."

"Alright, hop on the back. Mikuron, you okay with that?"

Mikuron seems to remember the Rotating Dharma, and though he looks annoyed at the man who took me away, he doesn’t seem to mind.

"I’ll keep dodging that nose attack of his."

"Understood. You offered yourself as a decoy for your beloved woman, huh? Impressive."

By the way, the Rotating Dharma had already made me their lifelong friend.

Talking to him, Behemoth's nose comes close again.

But this time, there's no need for Mikuron to dodge it.

The scenery changes in an instant, and before I know it, the nose passes right below us. This is convenient.

Mikuron looks at me with eyes that say, "I could have avoided it too!" but I pet her and say, "If it makes things easier, that's great." Then I drop the boulder.

Seirin's barrier blocks his nose, and the storage after the hit is successful.

"Hmm. Indeed, with this, we can defeat it if we have enough time."

That's right, the problem is that it takes a lot of time.

If it were easy to defeat, they wouldn't have released it as an emergency event.

"My ability allows me to transfer anything I touch. Right now, I can barely manage this black dragon and you. If you have anything you want me to bring, just tell me."

I see, so it's not just about touching something, there's also a size limit for now.

As I use this ability more, I'll probably be able to transfer larger things gradually.

"Anything you want me to bring? If there's something that might work on him, I'd like you to bring it."

「So you're saying I should drop something with my attack?」

「That's right. And since this island has nothing but rocks, that's about all we can use. Still, it would help.」

If there's something more effective than rocks, we should use that. But there might not be.

「...Wouldn't there be something that belongs to someone else that we could use?」

I thought about what the monk said and remembered something. "The airplane!"

Hida had brought a passenger plane to this desert island.

But would he give it to me just because I wanted to defeat the Behemoth? I guess it depends on how I ask.

It's a pretty good idea, but to do that, I'd have to temporarily leave this spot and go retrieve the plane.

The plane is too big for the monk to carry.

Before I do anything, I need to talk to my friends.

The monk isn't good at talking to girls, so I'll handle that part.

"I'll go talk to Hida first and make the arrangements. I've seen that plane before."

Hida has a plane and is a guy, so there shouldn't be any problem talking to him.

If you've seen him before, you can teleport to his base. "Yeah, I'll do it."

When I say that, he says "Yeah" and disappears. "Sousuke!!!"

Was it just a coincidence that I heard her voice during the battle? It was the voice of a summoned spirit.

Kuroryuu Genshou and the summoned spirit riding it, as well as the girls from the Seikou party, were approaching. More and more people are gathering.

This might make it seem more like a raid battle.
