We’ve got multiple updates today. This is the fifth one.
Me and Chiyu have welcomed a blonde-haired gal, Shaki, and a black-haired, refined Shion as our new companions. “Yay!”
“Thank you. I’ll do my best not to be a burden.”
Shaki jumps up in joy, and Shion looks relieved. “Oh, right, Souzou-kun.” “What is it?”
“Your two companions look really nice… Is there any way I could look like that too?”
Shion’s voice is calm, but there’s a hint of envy in it.
Come to think of it, I can see dirt on their clothes and skin.
Considering they appeared in the forest and wandered around alone for a while, it’s only natural.
“Huh? Wow, really! Your clothes look clean, and your hair and skin are shiny!”
Well, they’re already my companions, so there’s no need to hide it.
“As for the clothes, we’ll talk about that later. The reason your bodies are clean is because I made a bath.”
“Really! A bath! For real!?”
「Wow, Saou-kun’s ability is really amazing.」
I guess it’s because they’re girls, they’re really into it.
By the way, I’ve stored the bath supplies away, so they’re not visible.
「It’s like a drum bath, so you’ll be alone in it, but two people can fit in it. I’ll set it up for you.」

「If that happens, Senyuu-chan, you’ll be my love rival.」
「I will make my childhood friend the heroine.」

Once she understood what I was getting at, Senyuu quickly added, “Angora goats are fine too.”
“Hmm, hold on. Sheep… fluffy… fluffy… yeah, it seems like it could work!”
It seems that whether or not you can summon something depends on whether you can recognize it as “fluffy.”
“Wow! This means I can get wool now!” “What about Angora goats?” Senyuu persists.
“I get Angora wool, but I don’t know what an Angora goat is, so I don’t think I can summon it…”
It seems that the image you have is important with her ability as well.
Fenrir, for example, was a creature she loved enough to want to summon after reading a fantasy comic, so she was able to create it.
It seems like the image of a sheep isn’t that difficult either.
By the way, is there a limit to how many you can summon?
Hmm. Maybe it depends on size? It seems like I can’t summon another Fenrir right now. As for sheep, I think I can summon two? Or two heads? I’m not sure.
Summoning means calling them from somewhere, right? So, if I send Mashiro back to where she came from, can I summon her again later?
No, I can’t. Once you send them back, you can’t see them again. And, I don’t want to think about this, but if they die, they disappear. The summoner explained sadly.

But, can I summon two sheep, send them back, and then summon two more sheep again?
I asked if it was possible if I didn’t feel attached to them.
Hmm, it would be a little sad, but if necessary, I would do it.
So, what about those sheep… can you eat them?
Kyoufu’s question was understandable, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask it directly to the summoner.
No, it’s okay, you don’t have to look at me like that. I thought about it when I was really hungry too. But, it says in the ability description, “Cannot be converted to meat.” So, it means you can’t use them as meat, right?
「I see, so you’re judging that the ability isn’t being used in the intended way?」
In a sense, it’s the opposite of how Senyuu got ‘Purification’ because she imagined herself as a White Mage.
Shouzi probably imagined the creatures she summoned as partners or friends.
So, the limits of her abilities were set with that in mind.
「But, can we get wool then?」 Shion murmured.
「Probably, it should be fine. Just petting them should cause some fur to come out, and if they’re considered friends, brushing them should be an acceptable action. In other words, as we interact with them, the fact that animal fur comes off shouldn’t contradict Shouzi’s perception. The concern is—」
「Whether the fur we collect will disappear when we send the summoned creatures back, right?」
Shion continued my thought.
「Do you understand that part?」 「Huh? No worries, it won’t disappear.」 「Alright…!」 I clenched my fist. This means we can get wool.
We can obtain warm items such as blankets, pajamas, and rugs.
There are wool quilts, but the filling inside them is wool, and the fabric covering them is a different material.
No, there are wool sweaters too, and if we make them in a quilt size, wouldn’t that be enough to keep us warm for the time being?
Even if they get dirty easily or tend to develop holes, as long as the fabric isn’t damaged, you can store and rearrange them to look brand new again.
You don’t have to stick to the futon format; you could also use a blanket.
“Oh, I’m glad I can contribute right away.”
“First, I’ll set up the bath. Senyuu, Shion, can you help boil the water?” “Sure.” “Shouko, please summon the sheep.” “Ryo.”
I quickly set up a new stone bathtub and the bath set used for bathing.
All that’s left is for Senyuu to light the fire and boil the water.
With two bathtubs now, I asked Shion to help out as well.
Shouko closed her eyes, focused, and suddenly two sheep appeared before her. “Oh.”
Since she can only summon fluffy things, they’re covered in plenty of fur.
I took out a stone knife and carefully trimmed the sheep’s fur, being careful not to hurt them. “Sou, I’ll help too.” “Sure, thanks.”
I handed her another knife, and we both diligently trimmed the sheep’s fur.
I stored my fur each time I trimmed it, but it would be too much trouble to do the same for Shouko, so I brought out a wooden box for her to put hers in. “The sheep are just going to have to deal with it.”

「I see. So you’re a tamer.」
「White mage Chiyu and me, the tamer, and Souzou is… an alchemist?」
「Haha, they call your ability ‘seeing through’ too, Shion.」 「Really?」
Thanks to the sheep being docile and cooperative, the work went smoothly, but it was still quite labor-intensive.
「And here’s where my childhood friend’s ‘basic healing’ shines.」
Chiyu, who had appeared without us noticing, cast a spell on me. 「Thanks, Chiyu.」 「It’s what childhood friends do.」
「Chiyu, does that feel like you’re getting your energy back? Can you do it for me too?」 「Sure.」 A white light enveloped Shion.
「Wow! I feel great!」
After the water boiled, Chiyu and Shion took turns.
The childhood friend duo shaved the sheep’s wool, and the new members took a bath. For a while, they worked silently.
「Sorry, Souzou. Could you hand me the towel?」 Shion’s voice.
She came out of the bath, dried herself, and asked me to hang her towel on the screen.
I put her clothes in the laundry basket to clean them, like I did with Senyuu’s clothes, and also told her about the convenient features of the ‘Inventory.’ “Understood.”
I stored it in the ‘Inventory,’ and rearranged it. This way, the towel would lose its moisture and dry out.
“Isn’t ‘Craft Ability’ amazing?!”
Shozi showed off her amazement again, who knows how many times.
“I think you’re impressed because Kousuke answered with a certain degree of versatility in mind.”
It’s a standard feature in games where you explore a desert island, so I could easily imagine that part.
Soon, the two of them emerge from the bath.
Haruko looks fresh with her side ponytail down, and Shion, with her hair still damp and her face flushed, is a perfect example of a refined beauty.
They’re both so cute that it makes my heart skip a beat.
“Seeing Sohaku’s face after a bath feels kind of weird.”
Haruko smiles bashfully.
「Thanks for cleaning up my uniform.」
「That’s right! Thanks, Souzuke. This is really great.」 「You’re welcome.」
「What do you want to do? Summon more sheep?」
We had sheared four sheep and gotten quite a bit of wool.
I looked at the recipe and shook my head.
「We’re good for today. You two dry your hair by the fire. I’ll go to the cabin and start setting things up.」 「Hey, Sou-kun.」 「What?」
When Chiyou called me, I turned to her, and she said,
「There’s only one cabin, but four of us. How are we going to sleep?」 ……Right. I had forgotten about that problem.
I seem to have posted 15,000 words today….
