In Japan, you could buy sugar at convenience stores, but on this desert island, sugar was something we desperately needed.
We could eat meat and mushrooms, but we were eating them as our main food.
The only seasoning we had was a little dashi, and everything else was basically just salt.
So it was a huge relief to finally have the king of sweets, sugar.

Even Shiyou, who usually has a blank expression, seems restless. I can understand how she feels.
Three days may seem short, but it feels like a month.
I’ve heard of people getting homesick for Japanese food after just a few days of traveling abroad, and this is exactly that feeling.
The allure of food that has become a part of your body is incredibly painful even when separated for just a few days.

“If you add eggs… you can make pancakes.” Shiyou says aloud, licking her lips.
We have sheep’s milk, water, sugar, and butter, which we can produce right away.
With flour and eggs, we should be able to make pancakes.
“Flour and stuff like that… would probably have to wait for the survey results, right…? I’d like to make bread and cookies too, and if I could get breadcrumbs… I could make boar cutlets.” “Cutlets!”
Shouzi showed a boyish reaction to the cutlets.
